Jk , IMO, will HAVE to move Trent into a more forward version of the hybrid role because CONOR (although perhaps not taking one of the biggest chances ) is fast making the right side wing half role HIS!
My MotM ; Joe ! was incredible , going past the “world class mancs” putting in tackles, interceptions. YES Endo was effective , sharp , direct & did NOT get caught on the ball, (he done HIS job , probably the best I have seen of HIM) but Joe was …better, but “popular opinion” don’t see that enough! I watch the game three times before making notes//..
The REdS had 3 academy grads , & “20 year old senior Harv” & 4 kids on the bench…! Against the 18 mercenaries of the opponents!
WE who wish to take over the new LIVERPOOL club believe in youth, but fen way look only at the bottom line, they will see a way to increase their assets & will (AGAIN, as they have done so many times, M Gordon included) to sell off young talent! So much was made during the last year about “not clinical” DARWIN .. but he is FIRST on my team sheet, sure Ake made a sloppy back pass, but DARWIN saw & anticipated it, watch how he was alert & on it, causing the foul & pen. (BTW leading up to that was Jarell & Conor pushing down that right wing…that lead to the chance) again DARWIN was close to finishing a couple of half chances too…!
Macca, excellent pen, must also be first choice, IMO, for pens & the role in midfield, because either Joe or Endo can cover him, is becoming the sort of player LIVERPOOL have had throughout the decades an on-field leader & creator…
,, and JARELL has a similar footballing QUALITY that for me makes him MY CB choice alongside VVd, as IBOU is suffers from the injuries that remind me of the reason dAGGER never became the “legend” that he should have, strange that, for me Ibou, for a man of his physique, does not command both penalty areas at corners!
Lets Not forget Harv, who had to wait for a start, and the shift HE put in, and MO, who also had a couple of chances, and was fouled (also in the pen area) twice, unseen. ,,for me as a creator could be AS “dangerous” playing deeper , would still score enough goals but create more the VERY mobile DARWIN, Lucho and hopefully when fit again; DioGOAL! 😉 …
Cody ,,for me doesn’t suit the ROLE of front running striker, he is best in the “Bobby F role” will do a job, from time to time as striker against lower opposition.. as will “Bobby C” a lad who has earnt is place in the sQUAD…
For me at NO TIME, did the blue mancs “dominate” , yes they had a sharp first 10 mnutes, with laf chances, their goal was OUR error… collectively, OUR REdS DOMINATED 2/3rds of the remaining game… and (IMO) had we been kicking towards the KOP … the only criticism of VVd ( who like Jarell got caught on the ball ONCE!) for not winning the toss! ,,, we would have GOT “a decision” and a slight piece of luck to edge the WIN…
BUT.. I never saw this as a MUST WIN…game! Should, could, maybe..yes! among other (“expert / pundits) ex Lfc Nicol doubted Jarell & a “weakened Liverpool” but ..that’s BS! Lucho's dad came back.. there will be "life after Kloppo" ,, but Conor must deal with this & apparently has been dealing with the expected loss since a while!
so from now on its in our HANDS ..if the REdS win all the games ..no one can touch us..!

Losing Conor was a sad & IMO tactical blow, for JK/Lijnders were WRONG to play Trent back to be "occupied" by the runs of Martinelli, for me, it was obvious... NOT to do that as our MOST creative player was stifled by defensive duties,,, obvious that starting Robo, and Joe over on the right could have pushed Trent forward (rather than the inconsistent Ryan) to create for the front players..

throughout LIVERPOOLs rivals were QPR, Ipswich, Arsenal, Everton Man Utd, Leeds & N.Forest... imagine the players today having to put up with defenders who would try to break their legs... !
